Next Steps
Joining Classes

Once you have received all admission requirements and obtained a letter confirming admission, the next step will be joining of classes on 7 July 2020. This will be one day after the new academic year commences. Since schools are physically closed, classes will start through our Distance Learning Programme, which programme the newly admitted students will join.

Before doing so, the following steps are to be taken:

1. On Monday, 29 June 2020, parents will attend an orientation, where they will meet their children’s class-teachers. We will also provide the parents with the student’s Civi ID and password for logging in to the school’s electronic platform; and will train the parents to access the platform. Parents are requested to bring a laptop or a smartphone along to this orientation.

2. On Tuesday, 30 June 2020, student will have a short meeting with the teacher via the video link. Parents will need to apply the skills they picked up at the school to access the platform.

3. By 6 July 2020, we expect you to have bought all the books in the booklist that are relevant to the student’s grade.

The school will supply the notebooks or notepads on which you are to complete your work.

A note on the Distance Learning Programme

The Covid-19 has forced a rethink of most school arrangements. Our Distance Learning Programme responds to the challenges and opportunities thrown up by this crisis. The following in the programme is of note:

1. Preschoolers will receive all their work through the Google Classroom application. Work will be set out every day, to be completed either during the class or afterwards. Preschoolers will attend classes every day of 40 minutes’ duration.

2. In the Junior School (grades 1-5), students will attend a two-hour video class every day. This class will take place at the same time all five days of the week anywhere between 8 am and 6 pm. Classwork and homework will be conveyed through the Google Classroom application that also integrates the videoconferencing facility.

3. In the Senior School (grades 6-11), students will attend three hour and 20 minutes of classes every day. The classes will take place at the same time all five days of the week anywhere between 8 am and 7 pm. Classwork and homework will be conveyed through the Google Classroom application that also integrates the videoconferencing facility.

4. Students will be mostly required to complete their work on paper but will be expected to load snaps of their work on to Google Classroom.
